John T Essberger selects Telemar’s satellite broadband

German ship owner John T Essberger has signed a contract with the Telemar Group's subsidiary Telemar to provide broadband satellite communication for its entire vessel fleet.

German ship owner John T Essberger has signed a contract with the Telemar Group’s subsidiary Telemar to provide broadband satellite communication for its entire vessel fleet.

The Essberger Group operates 35 vessels in areas such as ship owning and ship management, liner shipping and maritime-related services.

"Telemar will supply and equip a customised hardware solution, including FB250 terminals, according to Essberger specifications.”

The contract includes the provision of satellite air time through 2015 by Telemar’s partner, Vizada.

Under the deal, Telemar will supply and equip a customised hardware solution, including FB250, terminals according to Essberger specifications, which will enable the vessels to access digital communications in real-time via the Inmarsat Fleet Broadband network.

Telemar will also provide support for the installations, including provision of a dedicated project engineer, maintenance of the equipment and customer service.

The company’s integrated model also covers global design, purchase, air-time, communication and navigation equipment installation, maintenance and repairs.
