Singapore’s Keppel Shipyard, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine (Keppel O&M), has secured four contracts worth approximately S$120m ($89m).
The company’s first contract is from BW Offshore’s wholly-owned subsidiary BW Catcher for the installation and integration of topside modules for a newbuild floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel.
Upon its completion, the vessel will be deployed to the Premier Oil-operated Catcher Field in central North Sea, UK.
Under its second contract from Sofec, Keppel will fabricate an internal turret mooring system for a FPSO that will operate in Maersk Oil's Culzean Field in UK's North Sea.
The turret fabrication is expected to be completed in the third quarter of next year.
Keppel Shipyard will also carry out upgrading work to the Castorone pipelay vessel for Saipem Offshore Norway.
The vessel is already berthed at Keppel Shipyard and upgrading work is scheduled to be completed in the third quarter of this year.
The scope of work will include the replacement of switchboards and the carrying out of renewal works on 45km of electrical cables.
Other works will include upgrades to various pipelay system, the construction of new water ballast tanks and conversion of old ones into fuel oil tanks in a bid to optimise the vessel's capabilities.
Woodside Energy selected Keppel Shipyard to carry out modification and upgrade the FPSO Ngujima-Yin to support the Greater Enfield project.
Keppel’s job scope will include marine and hull life extension and refurbishment works; and the installation of a new customised water flood module, turret risers and power and control modules.
The company will also be responsible for the modification of the swivel system, and marine and topside related piping.
The shipyard construction work is expected to start in the second quarter of 2018.
Upon completion, the Ngujima-Yin FPSO will be deployed to the Greater Enfield area in Western Australia.
