Walt Disney Company has launched its third cruise ship, the Disney Dream, in Port Canaveral in the US state of Florida.

The $900m vessel was rolled out after a transatlantic voyage from Germany, where it was constructed.

The 130,000t ship’s maiden voyage is set for January 26 after which it will sail three-, four- and five-night cruises to the Bahamas from Port Canaveral.

A sister ship, the Disney Fantasy, is under construction at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.
