Singapore-based Sembawang Shipyard, which is owned by Sembcorp Marine, has announced receiving new deals including a newbuild and three upgrade contracts worth $167.5m.
Sembawang has been awarded a contract to build a dynamically positioned blue-water research vessel from Australian company Teekay Shipping.
The RV Investigator is scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2013.
The vessel will be used by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation for marine research.
In addition, Sembawang has been awarded three upgrade projects valued at $71.6m.
They include an upgrade of a dynamically positioned heavy-lift and pipelay vessel, a LNG carrier longevity project and a drillship upgrade.
