Singapore based Sembawang Shipyard has received a $95.5m contract from Australia-based Teekay Shipping for the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of a research vessel.
The RV Investigator will be delivered to Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation in the second quarter of 2013.

The vessel will be based in Hobart, Tasmania, and will operate from the tropical north to the Antarctic ice-edge and across the Indian, Southern and Pacific oceans.
The shipyard also won three major upgrade contracts worth $71.5m.
