The world’s largest container ship has been launched by Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering.

MSC Danit can carry 14,000 20ft containers, about half of the total capacity of its home port of Busan, South Korea.

The container ship, built by the world’s third largest ship builder, is 365.5m in length, 51.2m in width and 29.9m high, measuring larger than the combined area of three football fields.

Moreover the ship can cruise at a maximum speed of 25 knots an hour (46.3km per hour).

The unique design of MSC Danit accommodates the deckhouse in the centre, while the engine room is housed on the stern side.
