The troubled cruise liner Aurora has arrived at the UK port of Southampton following engine problems, operator P&O has announced.

The 76,000t ship, carrying 1,736 passengers, experienced propulsion problems after leaving Sydney Harbour last month.

As a result of the breakdown the ship missed three ports in New Zealand and two in the Pacific Islands.

Passengers are threatening legal action over the cancellation despite P&O offering compensation of £500 and a refund of the cost of four days’ cruising.
