Royal Caribbean’s latest cruise ship Celebrity Equinox has set sail with its first fare-paying passengers from the UK en route to the Norwegian fjords and Mediterranean following its naming ceremony at Southampton.

The ship, which features ten dining areas, spacious accommodation (85% of which has a balcony) a lawn club and more, caters to 2,850 people and is 1,033ft long.

Its inauguration is planned for 8 August this year.

It is the second Solstice-class ship released by Royal Caribbean. The third – Celebrity Eclipse – will be launched next year.
