US-based Chesapeake Shipbuilding has launched a tug vessel.

The Charles Burton, built for Vane Brothers of Baltimore, Maryland, is 94ft long and 32ft wide tug and equipped with twin Caterpillar 3512 main engines capable of producing 3,000hp.

The vessel is the third tug to follow Elk River and Sassafras, two tugs delivered earlier to Vane Brothers, the company said.

Chesapeake Shipbuilding designs and builds steel commercial and industrial vessels between 90 and 300ft.
