Universal Launches New Ore Carrier for K Line

Japan's Universal Shipbuilding Corporation-owned Ariake Shipyard has completed the construction of Rigel, K Line's third 300,000dwt class ore carrier. The very large ore carrier (VLOC) will carry cargo dedicated for loading at Brazil and unloading in Italy for ILVA, K Line said.

Japan’s Universal Shipbuilding Corporation-owned Ariake Shipyard has completed the construction of Rigel, K Line’s third 300,000dwt class ore carrier.

The very large ore carrier (VLOC) will carry cargo dedicated for loading at Brazil and unloading in Italy for ILVA, K Line said.

The carrier, built to fly the Japanese flag and crossing the Atlantic Ocean, is expected to help educate and train Japanese seafarers.
