China’s Hubei Province authorities plan to build new docks and a supporting infrastructure system around the provincial capital of Wuhan.

With an area of about 70,000km², Hubei’s Yangtze economic zone will become a logistics hub of the Yangtze River and Central China, bairdmaritime said, quoting a provincial committee member.

The proposed new Wuhan Port comprises 22 districts, covering an area of 173km².

The docks are expected to be designed to take advantage of a river ferry system and develop local industries with the facilitation of logistics systems.
