Norwegian marine transporter GC Rieber Shipping has acquired Sea4 I Shipping and Sea 4 II Shipping, the subsidiaries of Sea4, for NKr800m.

The takeover will also allow GC Rieber to acquire two inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) subsea vessels of Skipsteknisk ST-254L CD design, contracted earlier by Sea4 I and Sea4 II.

The vessels are currently being built at Freire Shipyard, Spain and expected to be delivered by the first half 2011.

The vessels, which are fitted with 150t offshore AHC cranes, have a length of 110.6m, 20m beam and 1,000m² of deck space.
