APM Terminals, a member of the AP Moller-Maersk Group said it has entered into a joint venture agreement with Vinalines to work on a range of facilities at Vietnamese ports.

Vinalines, part of the Vietnamese National Shipping Lines company, said it is planning to invest in general cargo terminals, container terminals and transhipment hubs.

Both companies are already partners in the Cai Mep international container terminal, near Ho Chi Minh City, scheduled to open in the fourth quarter 2010.

The terminal will have an initial annual handling capacity of 1.1 million teu.
