VT Halter Marine has been awarded a second contract from OSG Ship Management to undertake the outfitting and commissioning of a 350,000-barrel articulated tug barge (ATB).

VT Halter will deliver the vessel, which measures 655ft in length and 104.9ft in width, in mid-2010.

In April, the shipbuilder was contracted by OSG to undertake similar work on another 350,000-barrel ATB, expected to be delivered by the end of the year.

The ATBs will be equipped to meet vapor balancing regulations in the Delaware Bay, where the vessels will trade.
