Workers are continuing to clean an oil spill in the Houston Ship Channel in the US, caused when a chemical supply ship collided with a barge tied to a pier.
The spill occurred on 25 September when the 458ft tank vessel was trying to turn near the Loop 610 bridge and collided with a barge, tearing a gash in the hull.
Nearly 10,500gal of heavy fuel spilled from the vessel forcing authorities to close the channel between Old Manchester Dock Three and City Dock 27 for two days.
According to reports, 51,653gal of an oil-and-water mixture and 380 yards of oily solids have been recovered.
