Dockwise in Bermuda has secured eight near-term contracts worth $24m for the transportation of modules, vessels and jack up drilling rigs.

The marine transport company and its partners will transport jack up drilling rigs to Tianjin, Sudan, Sjarjah, West Africa and Singapore and modules and a salvage vessel to Stavanger and Nigeria, respectively.

The majority of the contract work will be carried out in the fourth quarter of 2009 while the remainder will be worked out in early 2010.

The contract has been won by the company’s subsidiary Dockwise Shipping.
