Drydocks World Dubai’s floating storage regasification unit conversion project, FSRU Livorno, is underway.
The project, involving the LNG carrier Golar Frost, will give the ship a storage capacity of 137,000m3 of LNG, which will be delivered to OLT Offshore LNG Toscana.
According to the company, the vessel will have a production capacity of 3.75 billion standard cubic meters per annum.
The conversion includes fabrication and installation of structures such as an aft thruster compartment, a turret mooring system, foundations of cranes and loading arms, a bilge keel and foundations for equipment.
The project also involves the installation of a loading system, a side-by-side berthing mooring system, LNG transfer system and a process plant.
The Golar Frost will be converted into a floating LNG receiving terminal to be permanently moored offshore Livorno, Italy.
