Petrobras Netherlands has awarded Keppel a contract for the pre-conversion of the floating production storage and offloading P-58 vessel.

Keppel Offshore & Marine’s scope of work includes accommodation refurbishment, upgrading, structural and piping renewal, and tank coating.

The topside completion and rest of the conversion work of the vessel will be done in early 2011, the company said.

After conversion, P-58 will have a production capacity of 180,000 b/d of oil and gas compression capacity of 6,000,000 cu m/d.

According to the company, the vessel will operate in Parque das Baleias’ north field in the Campos basin and will be spread moored in a water depth of 1,400m.

Keppel Verolme recently received a contract from Saipem to upgrade the semi-submersible pipelay vessel Castoro Sei.
