Greek marine transporter Globus Maritime has agreed to sell two Handymax bulk carriers for $34m.

Under the agreement, the company will sell the 43,189 dwt Coral Globe and the 43,171 dwt Sea Globe, which are scheduled to be delivered by February 2010.

The transporter could face a book loss of approximately $6.3m in the deal.

Globus plans to use proceeds of the deal to repay bank debt and strengthen its liquidity, the company said.
