Brazilian energy giant Petrobras has signed a deal to charter 12 newbuilds to be built at Brazilian yards.
The company said it will also take a trio of 7,000m³ vessels from Spain’s Elcano.
Petrobras has launched tenders for 19 newbuilds on long-term charters. The company said it has hired three 45,000dwt clean products tankers from Rio de Janeiro-based tanker owner Global.
The company said it has yet to approve contracts for four 30,000dwt and three 45,000dwt products tankers.
Brazilian shipowner Navegacao Sao Miguel recently signed contracts for three 4,500dwt bunkering tankers. Delima Comercio e Navegacao, an Amazon tug and barge company, also won a contract for three 2,500dwt bunkering tankers.
