Aegean Marine Petroleum said it is acquiring bunker fuel supplier Verbeke Bunkering.
Aegean said it will buy Verbeke’s nine bunkering vessels and assume the contracts for nine vessels chartered-in.
The company is planning to expand into Verbeke’s operation area, the Antwerp-Rotterdam-Amsterdam region, which is the world’s second largest bunkering market.
Piraeus-based Aegean expects the deal to be completed in the first quarter of 2010.
