Technology services company CGGVeritas said its Nautilus acoustic positioning and streamer steering system on its Alize vessel has “dramatically” increased production levels.
The vessel is on its first project of a 3-D seismic programme in the Gulf of Mexico.
The Alize has achieved a one-day production record of 117km2, significantly exceeding production targets, the company said.
The firm said the system has been supported by the deployment of 12 Sercel Nautilus-Sentinel steered solid streamers.
Nautilus has reduced the infill requirements through streamer separations and depth control across the entire spread.
