The seaport capacity of earthquake-hit Haiti, which is receiving about 200 containers a day, is expected to double in the next week.
The US Air Force is expected to deploy additional joint logistics over-the-shore capability to increase capacity to 500 containers a day.
Additional capacity will then increase containers to 800 per day.
At the moment 23 ships, 60 helicopters and about 30 fixed-wing aircraft are operating in the area.
The US has deployed about 20,000 service members in and around Haiti while 6,000 are on the ground and the rest on vessels offshore.
