Sembcorp Marine said its Jurong Shipyard has won a S$130m ($93m) contract from Petrobras.
The Singapore-based shipyard will carry out pre-conversion works on the Very Large Crude Carrier MT SUVA, for the Brazilian oil producer.
The MT SUVA, to be renamed the FPSO P62, is part of Brazil’s offshore Roncador Field development plan.
The FPSO P62 will be capable of processing more than 180,000 barrels of oil a day and will have a storage capacity of 1,600,000 barrels of oil.
The vessel, to be installed at a depth of 1,600m, is designed to remain at the field for up to 25 years without dry docking, Petrobas said.
The vessel is scheduled for completion in Q2 2011.
