Manila North Harbour Port (MNHPI) will invest PHP14.5bn ($325m) to increase the port’s productivity by 500%, according to a port official.

MNHPI will spend about PHP7bn ($157m) over six years, with more than half going towards reclamation.

The first phase will convert ten pier ports into a three-terminal port, enabling it to increase its container handling rate from five containers an hour to 28.

Nearly 60% of the total project cost will be spent on infrastructure development, according to Malaya.com.
