The Government of Ghana will commission its new $875m floating, storage, processing and offloading (FPSO) vessel at Jurong Shipyard in Singapore on 1 May 2010.

The vessel, with a storage capacity of 1.6 million barrels, can process 120,000 barrels of oil a day, according to

The 330m long and 65m wide vessel has 17 modules weighing over 12,500t installed, which include a water treatment plant, a crude separation plant and a chemical injection plant.

Modules also include gas process and injection plant, the turret, electricity generation plant and 120-room accommodation.

The new FPSO is part of the Jubilee Phase One Development Project, which will begin its oil production from the Jubilee field in the fourth quarter of 2010.

The vessel will transit for the western coast of Ghana in two weeks.
