Wan Hai Lines is in talks with China Shipbuilding Corporation (CSBC) to reduce the size of 12 boxships ordered in 2007, estimated to be worth $600m.

Under the revised delivery schedule, CSBC is expected to hand over the first of the containerships in February 2012, according to Asiasis.com.

CSBC would accept the proposed changes if Wan Hai agrees to the modified production costs, an official said.

In June 2009, Wan Hai rescheduled the delivery of six 4,500teu containerships by between 16-18 months and the delivery of six 1,800teu boxships by between two-12 months.
