Raytheon Anschütz, a subsidiary of US defence contractor Raytheon, has developed an intelligent bridge system that integrates functions in an open architecture environment.

The US company said the distribution of navigation data and system configuration within the bridge increases the operating safety of the ship.

The consistent common reference system monitors the sensor data available on board and the best compiled sensor data distributed in the integrated bridge.

Raytheon Anschütz designed the bridge with an alarm management system that checks whether the error of an individual sensor set off an alarm, or whether the error only needs to be indicated to the watch officer for information.
