Dubai Port World (DPW) may pull out of a $350m container port project in the Indian state of West Bengal because of delays in finalising the dredging cost of a channel.

DWP Indian subcontinent managing director Anil Singh said the company would not pull out of the project straight away but if no progress is made it will be left with no choice.

In 2004 DPW, along with Kolkata-based Keventer Group and West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation, formed joint venture Bengal Ports to set up the 6.5 million teu port.
