STX Offshore and Shipbuilding has secured a $360m contract to build nine vessels.
As part of the contract, STX will build three 57,300dwt bulk carriers for an undisclosed European company which are slated for deliver in 2011.
The bulk carriers will be built at STX’s Dalian shipbuilding complex in China.
The company will also build six 74,500dwt oil tankers for Singapore-based Tanker Pacific Management.
The 228m-long tankers will be built at Jinhae Shipyard and delivered after 2012.
