Leighton Holdings subsidiary Leighton India has secured a $50m contract to expand the Visakhapatnam Port in India.
The Australian-based engineering group will undertake the construction work as a part of a consortium with Sterlite.
The firm will widen the existing 350m-long general cargo berth by 21m, lay a foundation for a 2.5km conveyor gallery and construct a stockyard and administration building.
The project will commence in July and will be completed by mid-2012.
