Sterlite-Leighton has secured an $82m contract for the construction of a multi-purpose berth at Paradip Port, Orissa, India.
The group, a consortium of Sterlite Industries and Leighton Contractors, said the berth will have an annual capacity of five million tons and will be used for handling clean cargo and containers.

Paradip port authorities will spend $12m on the project while the consortium is expected to contribute $70m.
The project is expected to be completed in 34 months and the consortium will share 23.4% of the revenue with the port, according to thehindubusinessline.com.
The group won the 30-year concession contract on a build-operate-transfer basis.
