Wartsila has signed a €23m ($29.2m) agreement with Brightoil Petroleum Group (BPG) in China to supply main engines for its bunkering tankers.
The engineering giant said it will provide 80 Wartsila 20 engines for 40 BPG tankers.
Delivery of the first ten engines is scheduled to take place between December 2010 and June 2011.
The company said each tanker will be powered by two six-cylinder in-line Wartsila 20 medium-speed engines, which use light diesel oils at low NOx emissions.
The tankers are scheduled to be launched in June 2012.
