Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell, has awarded marine service contracts to two Nigerian companies.
SPDC said C&I Leasing and Maiden Systems will provide marine tanker handling and pilot services to crude export vessels at the Bonny and Forcados terminals in the Niger Delta.
The contracts involve the construction of 11 marine tug boats to secure tankers while loading crude oil at the terminals, reports The Wall Street Journal.
The companies will also provide maintenance services at the crude loading facilities and handle offshore terminal emergency response and surveillance, it said.
Financial details of the agreement have not been disclosed.
