China has overtaken South Korea in terms of ship deliveries, deadweight and gross tonnage.
According to Clarksons, Chinese shipyards delivered 22.7 million dead weight tonnes in the first six months of the year compared to South Korea’s 18.3 million.

The figure places China nearly five years ahead of the government’s plan to surpass South Korea by 2015.
The current order book, however, indicates South Korea may overtake China again by 2011, according to lloydslist.com.
