Indonesian state port operator PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo I) is planning to seek another tender for the dredging of a waterway at Belawan port in North Sumatra.
Pelindo I said the IDR26bn ($2.8m) project will ensure the smooth traffic of ships at the port.
The dredging will cover areas near the estuaries of Deli and Belawan Rivers, the port operator said.
Pelindo I will also spend IDR11bn ($1.2m) on a car park and a container terminal at the port’s domestic terminal, according to dredgingtoday.com.
