Keppel Offshore and Marine has secured a S$170m (US$123m) contract from Single Buoy Moorings for the conversion of a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel.
The company’s Keppel Shipyard and Keppel FELS Brasil units will convert the M/T Theseus into an FPSO facility.
The company will work on hull and marine conversion, upgrading accommodation, fabrication and installation of a flare tower, helideck, spread-mooring system and topside module support.
The conversion work is expected to commence in Q3 2010 and the vessel is scheduled to leave Keppel Shipyard in the first quarter of 2012.
The contract also includes the repair of a semi-submersible drilling rig, the Alaskan Star.
