Thenamaris has signed a letter of intent with Jiangsu Yangzijiang Shipbuilding in China to build eight boxships, according to reports.
The Greek shipowner is planning to book two pairs of box ships of 1,800teu and 2,500teu each at the yard.
The 2,500teu ships are expected to cost Thenamaris around $40m each, while the 1,800teu vessels could be priced at around $30m a ship.
Each of the newbuild contracts includes two optional units, according to asiasis.com.
