Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Company (NACKS) will build a self-elevating wind turbine installation vessel for A2SEA under a $100m contract.

The Chinese shipbuilding company said the 132.34m-long DNV-class ship will be able to work under sea at depths of 45m.

The ship will also be equipped with DP systems, making it suited for European marine wind power projects, according to asiasis.com.

NACKS has two wind turbine installation vessels on order that are currently under construction.
