John Holland, a subsidiary of Leighton Holdings, has secured a A$276m (US$255m) contract from Rio Tinto for the construction of a port in Cape Lambert, Western Australia.
Under the contract, John Holland will build a 920m jetty, loading facilities and related piping works at the Cape Lambert B iron ore port.
Leighton Holdings said the investment will increase the capacity of the port by 50 million tons a year.
The project is expected be completed by the end of 2012.
