According to Fincantieri, the new vessel will be constructed using the latest technologies, featuring standards that exceed relevant legislation requirements.

Under construction at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Marghera, Italy, the new cruise-ship is designed to maintain a high ratio of space per guest, and each suite will have a private veranda and one staff member per guest service.

Designed by Adam D Tihany, the 40,350gt ship will be able to accommodate 600 guests, based on double occupancy.

The vessel is expected to start operations in 2016, and will join Seabourn’s fleet, which currently comprises of Seabourn Odyssey, Seabourn Sojourn and Seabourn Quest.

Seabourn Encore’s sister ship, Seabourn Ovation, is expected to join the fleet in 2018.

Carnival Corporation’s Seabourn awarded the contract to build Seabourn Encore in January last year, while the deal for the second vessel was confirmed in December 2014.
