Fugro has received a new Fugro offshore coastal survey vessel (FOCSV), which is the second in a series of three being constructed by Damen Shipyard Group.
The new Fugro Pioneer survey ship is designed to conduct a wide range of survey, monitoring and inspection operations.
The vessel will also be capable of offering a variety of survey and inspection duties such as light geotechnical work, environmental baseline surveys, monitoring and inspection and moon pool deployments.
Each vessel in the series has been designed to suit the individual environments they will be deployed into, to ensure they can carry out their operations effectively across different regions.
Fugro Pioneer will be equipped with diesel electric propulsion and will provide reduced maintenance costs to its operator.
These three vessels will support Fugro in the acquisition of the full spectrum of survey data through different tasks. The first FOCSV, Fugro Proteus, was delivered in July.
The 53m-long Proteus is customised for geophysical surveying, light geotechnical work and environmental baseline surveys as well as moon pool deployments.
Both vessels were built by Damen for Fugro, and the third vessel is scheduled for delivery by the end of this year.
