Incat Crowther has secured a contract to design three 42.5m monohull dive support vessels.

The vessels are currently under construction at SeaSafe Barcos Manufaturados in Angra do Reis, Brazil for Sistac.

The first of the three vessels, Sistac Vitória, is expected to be delivered from the Brazilian shipyard in the first quarter of 2014.

Incat said the new design has been developed from stem-to-stern to be a DP-2 capable dive support vessel, and features integrated ROV launch and recovery, dive compressors and a decompression chamber.

The vessel’s aft deck comprises a large working deck, including the ROV crane and reel, a pair of dive platforms and two deck cranes.

The interior of the main deck house includes functional areas such as toilets and showers, the dive shop and ROV shop.

Forward interior space accommodates an office, TV room, meeting room, mess areas and two single-berth cabins for senior personnel, including a designated officer cabin.

Below decks will be used as accommodation for the remaining 33 crew members, which will be designed as two, three and four-berth cabins, each with their own en-suite bathrooms.

Four Scania D13 main engines will supply power to the vessels, which will produce about 410kW for a service speed of 13k and a top speed of 15k.

The DP-2 capability of the vessel will allow it to hold station in the case of a failure in any single component of the system.
