China-based Jinglu Shipbuilding has selected AVEVA Marine software to improve the design efficiency and quality of its vessels.
The new software will allow Jinglu Shipbuilding to future-proof its operations and to compete well against other shipbuilders in the industry.
AVEVA Marine’s software contains a set of integrated applications that are specifically created for the processes of the engineering and design of ship and offshore structures.
Additionally, the software helps in design management and to generate accurate production information.
Jinglu Shipbuilding technical director Shiwen Jiang said that the software will allow for shorter design cycles, improved design accuracy and reduced wastage in production.
"AVEVA Marine’s large user base gives us the widest possible choice of partners, as well as the ability to recruit from a pool of highly skilled engineers and designers who already know the AVEVA software. The advanced technology provided by AVEVA Marine also enables us to more easily address our changing business needs," Jiang added.
AVEVA Greater China head and executive vice president Paul Eveleigh said that while AVEVA Marine delivers immediate business benefits, it is also an investment in the future, since it gives shipbuilders the tools to address more complex project opportunities in a very difficult market.
Founded in 2006, Jinglu Shipbuilding employs over 4,500 employees including 400 engineering and management personnel.
