Kalmar

Cargotec subsidiary Kalmar has received an order from PD Ports’ Teesport facility in the UK to deliver three of its Gloria reachstackers and one empty container handler.

The fifth-generation Gloria (DRG450) reachstackers will provide greater productivity and lifetime value, as well as offering reduced maintenance and lower downtime.

PD Ports managing director (bulks and port services) Jerry Hopkinson said: "Kalmar’s innovative technology, especially in the new cabin, was an important factor in our decision.

"The reachstackers are equipped with a reversing camera with integrated proximity sensors and a tyre-pressure monitoring system."

"At PD Ports, health and safety is our number one priority and these new machines will help us to further promote a safe working environment for our employees."

For a safe operation, the reachstackers are equipped with a reversing camera with integrated proximity sensors and a tyre-pressure monitoring system.

Delivery is expected for December of this year.

This new development marks PD Ports’ efforts to improve its service and offer better throughput and enhanced efficiency.

Earlier this month, Kalmar delivered 18 forklift trucks to four different port authorities in Algeria, namely Algiers, Bejaia, Djen Djen and Mostaganem.

Under the contract, Kalmar delivered four medium forklifts and 14 heavy forklift trucks, including four DCE160-12 medium range units, six DCF180-12 forklift trucks, three DCF330-12 and DCF420-12 units and one DCF520-12.
