Kohler Power Systems, a manufacturer of diesel and gasoline marine generators, has introduced updated emissions-compliant diesel generators ranging from 40kW-99kW for 60Hz and 33kW-80kW for 50Hz.

The models, which are smaller and quieter, include a newly designed KOHLER Decision-Maker 3500 (DEC 3500) controller that features paralleling software and load-management software.

The software allows automatic paralleling of two generators without the cost and extra footprint of switchgear.

Kohler Power Systems engineer Frank Formas said while load requirements have increased due to advanced electronics equipment, onboard space is still at a premium.

"Our new paralleling controller matches power capacity with load needs to eliminate under-loading and over-fueling, while conserving space, decreasing fuel costs and reducing equipment maintenance," Formas added.

The KOHLER DEC 3500 also features a new customer interface for easier data entry and retrieval, bus sensing, first on logic and synchronisation.
