Around 34 cruise ships are expected to sail in Australian waters in the summer and visit 559 ports, bringing huge capital for local economies.
Some of the ships that are expected to visit Australia include Queen Mary 2 and the Silver Whisper.

The Queen Mary 2 features 15 restaurants and bars, a casino, five swimming pools, and the world’s first planetarium at sea, while the Silver Whisper offers an owner’s suite that costs $1,500 a night on a 113-day world tour.
In addition to major Australian cities, the ships will visit port at Eden, Burnie, Geelong, Kangaroo Island, Geelong, Macquarie Island, Norfolk Island, Ashmore Reef and Port Lincoln.
Cruise Lines International Australasia general manager Brett Jardine was quoted by couriermail.com.au as saying that as cruising grows in popularity they are seeing new opportunities for smaller ports along their coast to share in that growth and build local tourism.
"It’s a win-win – passengers love the new destinations and different ports, while communities benefit from the economic value each ship brings, as passengers take in the sights and enjoy local tours and shopping," Jardine added.
