Associated British Ports (ABP) has taken delivery of the second of five hydraulic cranes at its facility in Port of Swansea, UK.
The newly delivered equipment will be provided and installed by Cooper Specialised Handling as part of a £6m deal between the two firms, and includes a Mantsinen 120m crane.

ABP recently installed a smaller version at its facility in Teignmouth, Devon, allowing the company to unload 2,000t vessels two hours quicker than before.
ABP South Wales director Matthew Kennerley said: “Our investment into this key piece of cargo handling equipment is part of our commitment to continuously improving the services we provide to port customers.
“We are pleased to have worked with Cooper Specialised Handling. Their purchasing process allowed our operational team, including those who will be using the crane, to be actively involved in establishing the specification of the new crane.
“Therefore, we are confident that it will help us improve operational efficiency and customer service at the port.”

By GlobalDataThe company currently handles more than 500,000t of agribulks, coal, aggregates and project cargo at its Swansea port facility, which spreads across an area of 521 acres.
Port of Swansea has a capacity to handle up to 30,000dwt of vessels, and the new Finland-built cranes will be used to improve the efficiency of cargo handling.
ABP is also set to install new cranes in the ports of Ipswich and King’s Lynn in the UK, as part of its £1bn investment programme to support its customers with innovative logistics solutions.
