Hogia has won a contract to supply a terminal operating system (TOS) to Portsmouth International Port, digitalising its terminal operations.
The open interface TOS will digitalise the management of freight transport through the terminal, subsequently increasing its efficiency.

The technology firm’s system includes a shared platform for port staff and ferry operators, which allows for the digital management of terminal operations.
Hogia’s TOS can comfortably work in conjunction with third-party applications, including the shipping firms’ own booking systems.
The company said that the information held in the system ensures that freight units arriving at the terminal gate can be easily found and allows them to be easily assigned to a known location on the terminal.
It also eases the disclosure of information to port operations staff and ferry operators, if desired.

Situated on the south coast of England, Portsmouth International Port handles over 250,000 freight units every year.
Owned and managed by Portsmouth City Council, the port operates departures and arrivals for cruise ships, cargo ships and passenger ferries.
