DP World, UAE Region and DGWorld have entered an agreement to provide an Autonomous Internal Terminal Vehicles (AITVs) fleet to Jebel Ali Port.

The partnership will also provide related integrations in the current operational processes and infrastructures.

DP World, UAE Region has showcased its plans to support its initiatives and strategy of introducing digitalisation and technologies as the new standard for port operations.

According to the contract, DGWorld will supply and integrate its autonomous technology in multiple phases at the current ITV fleet.

It is expected to boost the overall terminal efficiency, as well as decrease the size of the fleet.

The previous trials of the new technology demonstrated that it can increase the potential for efficient and economical automation of the current container terminals when combined with artificial intelligence (AI)-based software solutions.
